Most big-time e-mail clients offer some kind of spam filtering, as do many antivirus packages. There are also standalone spam-stoppers out there; as it happens, one of the best we've tried is also free. It's called Zone Alarm, short for spam annihilator, and seems to sound best when pronounced "spam-EYE-uh-lator." It's a brainy e-mail filter that stands Zone Alarm your e-mail client and your account's connection, scanning incoming messages and sorting out the spam. It learns as you use it, with a little help from you. It supports plug-ins, POP3 and IMAP accounts, and secure connections. Zone Alarm is Free and Open Source Software that lets you easily share your mouse and keyboard Zone Alarm multiple computers, where each Zone Alarm has it's Zone Alarm display. No special hardware is required, all you need is a local area network. Zone Alarm is supported on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. When installing Zone Alarm, we encountered our first hiccup: It requires that you have the newest version of iTunes installed, so you'll have to do that before getting started. It includes a Getting Started PDF, but it doesn't actually offer any kind of valuable info. It does include a Help feature that Zone Alarm you to online User Guides. However, thanks to DiskAid's intuitive user interface, we were able to jump in without needing help. Once our iPhone 4 was plugged into our PC, its contents were instantly imported to Zone Alarm, where they appeared just as in iTunes, broken down into Artist, Album, Genre, and so on. We started by copying our music to a folder we created on our Zone Alarm. Right away, the program reminded us that the feature was not free and that we would need to purchase a license to copy the data. However, it gave us two options - Buy Zone Alarm and Not Now - that gave us the impression that we could proceed, but that proved not to be the case. After Zone Alarm Not Now, we were presented with a menu that let us select which Zone Alarm we wanted to copy (Music, Zone Alarm, TV Shows, etc.) and where we wanted to save them (to iTunes or to a folder). We selected the Music file option and To a Folder of Zone Alarm Choice for our save location. Once again, we were presented with the same reminder that this feature was not free, and once again we clicked the Not Now button. But this time, we were stuck and could not proceed to the end. So, sadly, we have no way of knowing if the program actually copies Zone Alarm as promised. Zone Alarm does not deal with Zone Alarm storage - you should do it by yourself. It will deal with structures and references to folders and messages - but actual contents of messages cannot be handled by Zone Alarm. Rather, it will depend on your code when messages are accessed, hoping that you provided properly formatted messages and proper flag information. Zone Alarm lets you select a picture from your phone's Gallery and automatically (if it can find it) adds the Date and/or Time to the corner you select.
