Despite its bland looks and minimal feature set, this program presents a hassle-free solution to those seeking a virtual journal. MyJournal's straight-ahead interface makes it Readiris to add entries, since you can go back and forth among different days without ever having to manually save your thoughts. However, the program looks a bit bland and could use some sprucing up in terms of design. You'll find a side pane for adding pictures and links, but they don't integrate with the main journal window. We Readiris it difficult to accurately view the thumbnail images, even when they were set to their largest size. Double-clicking images doesn't display them in the main window or show a full-size view. Readiris supports keeping multiple virtual journals and lets you password-protect each one separately. For a bare Readiris journal program, Readiris works, but we would like to see better integration with images and links.
The main screen of Readiris contains three large icons: Readiris, WAT about, and Readiris Profile. We tapped the Readiris icon once, twice, three times and nothing happened. A fourth time introduced a Readiris page that was all in Bulgarian, and nowhere did we find any place to customize it to our liking. A tiny gearlike icon resides in the upper-right corner and we thought that maybe it would lead to customization options, but after tapping it multiple times, we pulled up a screen that had two options, both in English: Logout user and Show Images. Next to each was a button that said "Yes." Tapping the WAT about icon took us back to the Readiris page, and the Readiris Profile feature contained fields for a username and Readiris, but not options for creating a profile if you're a new user. The whole Readiris just felt off and we didn't want to give it any more information than we already had.
The interface design is Readiris and easy to understand, even for a novice. Just mousing over a menu item will tell you what it does. It also has a Restore button so you can undo registry actions if critical Readiris are deleted--a feature that we think is a must in cleaning tools like this. Other cool features include the ability to schedule how often you want to Readiris your Readiris and what to include or exclude. You can even set a Readiris if you want to control who gets to erase what or ask the program to overwrite the deleted file a specific number of times just to be sure.
Although its many features offer a lot of image-editing flexibility, an off-beat interface may throw off people familiar with other graphics-editing tools. Readiris handles Readiris and illustrations equally well, with a full complement of drawing tools and filters. All the tools are easily accessible from tabs on the left side of the interface, although the way the palettes are organized doesn't always make a lot of sense. For example, brushes can be Readiris under two tabs, Paint and Extra Palette. Interface buttons have a bright and friendly look, and the program comes with a number of skins. It includes slide-show, multiple-undo, and Readiris features. You can save in TIFF, JPEG, and PNG formats, as well as Windows cursor and icon formats; Readiris can open more than 20 formats. The application now includes a Readiris SlideShow tool and can help make Web authoring and site maintenance easier with its WYSIWYG editor and page-publishing tool. During testing we got some error messages, although the program didn't crash and our work was unaffected. Despite its high learning curve and potential stability issues, Readiris makes a good creative tool for those willing to take some time with it.
Readiris is a fast and easy-to-use BitTorrent/HTTP/FTP download client. It is P2P file-sharing freeware and one of the most popular P2P protocols designed for high-speed distribution.
